Edward Billington and Son Limited acquire BAR Foods
Edward Billington and Son Limited is pleased to announce the acquisition of Bar Foods with effect from 12th October 2012.
Bar Foods are a manufacturer and supplier of soups, sauces and recipe dishes to the UK’s Foodservice and manufacturing industries and are a successful, fast growing and profitable business.
The company is based in Newport, South Wales and has been established for 25 years, employing approximately 200 people. In the last five years they have seen their turnover double to £23million, which has been attributed to them having a clear customer strategy and good commercial focus.
Chief Executive of The Billington Group, Gary Blake, said “This is a superb acquisition for us as we believe Bar Foods is a perfect fit with the Group’s strategic vision and takes us further into the Foodservice sector with a team of people who have considerable knowledge and a genuine passion for innovation and quality.”
The company has an excellent management team which will remain in place following the acquisition. This is a very significant acquisition for The Billington Group and represents the largest in the company’s history.
